Subject: WANDERING SHEPHERD From: WyoWoman Date: 25 Feb 01 - 10:17 AM Greetings Gentlepeople, A friend gave me a Dan Fogelberg CD for my road trip and I've just about worn the grooves smooth. I looked for a couple of my favorites in the DT and apparently the publisher doesn't want to share at least one of them ("Sutter's Mill"). The others are "High Country Snows" and "Wandering Shepherd," and also one, the title of which I can't remember, that starts with, "THe higher you climb ..." If anyone knows how I could locate the lyrics and chords for these -- heck, I'd even buy a songbook -- please let me know. I have the words figured out to Wandering Shepeherd -- they aren't all that complicated -- but there's one part that I can't understand and that doesn't make sense. It sounds like, "Wandering shepherd, find he ray oh..." or something. I thought it was "Find your way home," but no matterhow much I listen to it, it doesn't really sound like that's it. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? WyoWoman |

High Country Snows

The Higher You Climb
The higher you climb, the more that you see
The farther you reach, the more that you touch
The higher you climb, the more that you see
The higher you climb, the more that you see

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: WANDERING SHEPHERD From: John Hardly Date: 26 Feb 01 - 07:18 AM A suggestion; Whatever chords you choose for Wandering Shepherd (for the key you are comfortable singing in). play them without the 3rd. For instance G=3X0033 C=33X010 or 33X013 D=X00235. It will give it that more mysterious sound. |
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: WANDERING SHEPHERD From: GUEST,Rex at work Date: 26 Feb 01 - 07:33 AM I got this record when it first came out and pretty much wore it out. It's still one of my favorites. He had a good fleet of musicians on it. For what its worth, I like this website (www.treehouse.org/fogelberg/) as it lists the lyrics by album. Anyway his Bluegrass album is a great one. I play most everything on it. Rex |
