Can anyone supply lyrics to "In My Tennessee Mountain Home"? It's a Dolly Parton song, I believe, and it was also recorded by Maria Muldaur. Thanks.

I found Tennessee Homesick Blues, but not In My Tennessee. click here for all of Dolly's lyrics, then you can decide which one it is.

Cool, Mark. I looked at the "I" index and the "T" index. Didn't think to look at "M".

Thank you so much, Sorcha and Mark. Janet and I, Dollywood visitors both, will be able to sing this one now. Andy

One I did at the Getaway is called "The Mountains of TENNOSSEE". I think it is a Carter family song. I learned it from Jim & Kim Lansford from MO. It goes like this:
Take me back, take me back, to my old mountain home
Take me back where my heart longs to be.
Where I played by the brook in the cool shady nook,
In the mountains of Tennosee.
In my old mountain home, where the wild roses bloom,
It's a spot just like heaven to me.
Take me back, take me back, to my old mountain home,
In the mountain of Tennosee.

MY TENNESSEE MOUNTAIN HOME
Written by Dolly Parton
As sung by Dolly Parton on "My Tennessee Mountain Home" (1973)

Sittin' on the front porch on a summer afternoon
In a straight-back chair on two legs, leaned against the wall,
Watch the kids a-playin' with June bugs on a string,
And chase the glowin' fireflies when evenin' shadows fall.

CHORUS: In my Tennessee mountain home,
Life is as peaceful as a baby's sigh.
In my Tennessee mountain home,
Crickets sing in the fields nearby.

Honeysuckle vine clings to the fence along the lane.
Their fragrance makes the summer wind so sweet,
And on a distant hilltop, an eagle spreads it's wings,
An' a songbird on a fencepost sings a melody. CHORUS

Walkin' home from church on Sunday with the one you love,
Just laughin', talkin', making future plans,
And when the folks ain't lookin', you might steal a kiss or two,
Sittin' in the porch swing, holdin' hands. CHORUS
