Try the folk club page on Northern Journey Online

www.northernjourney.com

The only club I know is the Rogue Folk Clu (various locations across Vancouver)

Many thanks to you all. We will act on your suggestions.

Don't suppose there are any divers out there too.

in the summer, theres a folk club meeting each tuesday evening (8:00pm) at the Jericho Sailing Centre its 5$ at the door, (something for the musicians) and you can sign up to perform yourself. If youre looking for sessions theres a few around town and singers are welcome too. I can give you more details if you like petr

If they live in a state with a Paris, yes they do.

I'll be in Vancouver too, likely in August, see the Pacific Northwest thread (anyone who wants to do a blicky, welcome)... I'll miss that music festival but I hear there are others...?

I live halfway between two Vancouvers. It's far less obvious to me.

Why can't people just answer questions without being insulting (or trying to be insulting, anyway)?

Geezis, Petr, take some politeness lessons or something.

Thanks everybody sorry to cause such consternation. I did mean BC, must admit I never realised there were so many Vancouvers, but thats the problem with us Brits

I'm a singer songwriter and wont have my guitar with me so singing cessions would probably be favourite.

Sorry I overreacted. But really, if somebody asks an innocent question, a polite answer really is the best policy.

Indeed even if the question isn't innocent the polite answer will defuse the non-innocence.

I hope you enjoy your trip to VBC. For my money it's the most beautiful city (taking in surroundings and such) in the world.

It's a confusing world. There's a Des Moines just south of Seattle.

(So far, nobody's had to ask "which Seattle," but wait 'til we terraform Mars).

I always wondered about the two Des Moineses -- do they pronounce the names of their cities the same way? The one south of Seattle is pronounced, "duh-moynes." How do the Iowayans pronounce theirs?
