Help: Getting chords & music??

If this has been asked before, please forgive a 'newbie'. Is is possible to get the chords and be able to listen to the tune for songs I've never heard of before?

Should be possible. There are lots of sites around, however there seems to be sites that offer lyrics and chords or lyrics and sound files but I'm still trying for a site that offers all three! Try looking at teleport.com and guitaretab.com both of which offer links to other sites. I didn't have time to check them out myself. Good luck! Post a message if you come across anything yourself.

Also our own mudcat DT has lyrics, sometimes chords and sometimes midi files of the tunes for many songs. Go to the "digitrad and forum search" box near the top the Mudcat discussion Forum page and type in the song you seek.

Hi,

I don't think its quite as easy as is being made out.

Often you won't find the chords in which case you need to learn to work out the chords for yourself - can be done if you have the tune, some chord theory and some time.

If stuck then it is worth posting requests for chords for specific tunes on this forum. I have posted several requests for chords over the last few years and sometimes I have got them and sometimes I have not.

There are some threads in the database on chord theory that you can search through that may help.
