Sorry that I have offended someone. I was looking for the lyrics and the chords. Every positive response had only the lyrics.

By the way, I was about to join or register with whatever support it required, until I read "...can't we stop this type of thing." What "type of thing" do you want to stop exactly? Interest? Participation? CT

I'll let spaw answer for himself, so that I am not trying to read his mind, but I suspect he meant duplicating efforts. Certainly not interest or participation.

It's much better if you continue to use the first thread you started instead of starting a new one. If you are a member, you can "Trace" the thread; if you are not, you can use the "refresh" box if your request is not showing on the main page. Threads drop off after 24 hours, but they are still there.

I know you asked for lyrics AND chords, but chords are much more difficult to find on the Internet. Sometimes we find actual sheet music gif, but not often. Sometimes we find a sound file, (wav, midi, etc.) but again, not often. We usually have to wait until someone who actually KNOWS the song sees the request and responds.

Please do your self a favor and go forth and read the FAQ--the first thread on the main forum page. It's Teal colored, and will tell you lots of helpful stuff about this place. Come on and join up, I am sure spaw wasn't slamming you, OK?

Thrasher.....Sorcha explained it pretty well and I wasn't pointing any finger at you. Many times we have a second, third, or even fourth thread from the same person requesting the same thing. I know a lot of message board sites work that way to some degree. Here, as Sorcha said, its better to go back and follow the thread you started with additional info.....ie, "Thanks, but I still need the chords."

There are nimerous ways of doing that, tracking a thread, and those of us who are used to the place do it all the time, and its explained in the FAQ. But for someone to come in and make the request, I am after a simple way to let them know quickly how to track their thread and eliminate the need to start another. I don't know how to do that exactly and that's what I said to Sorch. We need to have a quick "must read" kind of informational thing that would make it easier for a guest to come in and do the same thing we do.

Sorry, if I sounded offensive toward you.....Wasn't my intent at all and I hope you do decide to stay around and enjoy what the site has to offer.

Spaw

The definitive place for any John Stewart lyric is http://www.californiabloodlines.com/ I am a bloodliner [John's mailing list/bulletin board - what do you call these things?] and we have some songs with chords on a site kept by Tony Gurney but I do not think that "Stone" is there. I will mail the list and ask if anyone has it in their personal collections.

Eric
