I am in Sutton Coldfield a few times a year to see the family (next time probably in early June) and, yes, will also be at the Warwick Folk Festival.

All the best,
Dan

Hi to all! Just trying to find out if there are any obscure folk/blues clubs/sessions around the area. Although I,ve been in the area a couple of years I've not explored too much because of working around the country. In the last year had a major operation and as part of my recuperation rediscovered my old Guild guitar now 30 years mature and also started to learn the fiddle. Now looking for places to listen and learn new stuff. All ideas welcome.

Hi there -- not from the area -- or even your side of the pond -- but I'll be at the Warwick festival in July along with the other 4 in my group The Johnson Girls - check out our thread at Click here

or our website at www.thejohnsongirls.com for speedier service,

Click here for the Johnson Girls' Website

stop by to see us when you are there -- and introduce yourselves to us as mudcatters.

If you're coming over to this side of the big pond, specifically New York City, check out the events at the NY Pinewoods Folk Music Club - 35 years and still going...

Click here for the NY Pinewoods Website

keep this thread going -- we would love to meet you all in Warwick.

GUEST,Frug
Look on my site for sessions and FC's but it is on the fringe of my reach so I link to as many sites I can find in attached areas, surf from here http://cresby.com
There is something in Kenilworth and there used to be a bluegrassy/banjoing cohort in that locale. Let me know if I am out of date in your area.
TIA

Regarding the folk club at the Mill in Banbury, Wednesdays - The 'Ride A Cock Horse' Folk Club 8.30pm-11pm in the Millers Bar, the upstairs one at the back.

I've been a couple of times and it was a lot of fun.

Watch out for Mr & Mrs Lemon dropping-in at Banbury next week. They will be in the area. After loadsa suggestions they plumped for calling themselves "Lemon Thyme".

Derek's club is at the Mill Arts Centre in Banbury - and a cracking club it is too (they had a superb mini-festival last autumn). He can be reached on 01285 770952.

There's lots of sessions in Coventry. The Old Windmill on medieval spon street, first tuesday of the month is a good place to start. Kicks off about 8:30pm.
