Subject: Allow me to introduce myself From: Chip2447 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 03:24 PM Howdy folks, I've been a Mudcat fan for several months, just never got around to putting my name on the dotted line. For better or worse, (for you guys) I'm here now. I'm a RANK amature musician, yep, that also means that I stink. I'm a struggling though obviously not starving writer wannabe. I'm a full time dreamer at large who was born too late this time around. I hope I can live up to the Mudcat standards. May the music never leave your hearts, and may your hearts never leave the music....Cheers gang... A Chip in time |
Subject: RE: BS: Allow me to introduce myself From: UB Ed Date: 06 Apr 01 - 03:36 PM Welcome Chip, and you already have lived up to the high Mudcat Standards! Asa dreamer, I'm sure you'll get a great deal of advice from the digitrad searches as you advance your musical abilities. Ed |

Subject: RE: BS: Allow me to introduce myself From: GUEST,#1 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 03:44 PM As you can see I'm number one, and not a Mudcat member, but still thinking about it (since 1997). Just your run of the mill 1st class curmudgeon, with huge piles of trivia in which to bury members and GUESTs in. |

Subject: RE: BS: Allow me to introduce myself From: wdyat12 Date: 07 Apr 01 - 12:20 AM Hi Chip2447! Welcome to Mudcat. It's never too late to become a better musician, if you're willing to put some effort into realizing your dream and you're not dead yet. That is why I am here and I'm old. If you are dead, please don't stink up the place. Have a proper burial. Please! wdyat12 |
Subject: RE: BS: Allow me to introduce myself From: Chip2447 Date: 07 Apr 01 - 05:30 AM Thanks folks, Chip a....I pretty much reek at all music that I try to butcher. Although, right now I'm really into Celtic music, with the thought of perfoming at renfests here in the midwest. Currently single, 40 something (in May I'll be 41 something). I can read music if I stop and think about FACE & Every Good Boy Does Fine. Fortunaly, I have a pretty good ear. I play at, not well, guitar, flute, ocarinas, whistles, and am currently teaching myself to play the pipes. The cat died, but not as a result of the chanter, I hope. I have really eclectic musical tastes, meaning that there is at least something in every genre that I like, although West coast experimental fusion jazz has never really hit it big with me. Oh, did I mention that I dont blow my own horn....HEY NOT THAT WAY....Wait, lets forget that whole statement... Yuk yukka yuk yuk. Thanks again for the welcome. chip2447 (or chipchip if you translate form the telephone numbers) |
Subject: RE: BS: Allow me to introduce myself From: Peter Kasin Date: 07 Apr 01 - 02:38 PM Welcome, Chip! Renfaires can be alot of fun, and a great way to meet other musicians to jam with, learn from, and from there, you'll probably meet other musicians as your Renfaire friendships turn to parties back home. It's a great start into the Celtic music scene (providing the faire you're going to has Scots and Irish guilds/street performers. -chanteyranger |
Subject: RE: BS: Allow me to introduce myself From: Irish sergeant Date: 07 Apr 01 - 03:39 PM Welcome Chip2447! What type of writing do you do? You already have me beat as a rank musician. I'm the guy they invented tabulature for. Where in the Midwest? Kindest reguards, NEil |
Subject: RE: BS: Allow me to introduce myself From: Chip2447 Date: 07 Apr 01 - 11:09 PM Sending up a flare from the heart of Missouri, which for us rennie addicts isnt too bad considering that we have 3 fests here and a big one right across the river in Kansas, along with The big Muddy Folk festival. Subject: RE: BS: Allow me to introduce myself From: Margo Date: 07 Apr 01 - 11:38 PM "Allow me to introduce myself", A phrase forever in my mind in the accent and voice of Boris from Rocky and his friends. You're not a Russian plant, are you? *BG* Margo |
