Subject: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 07:48 PM Gargoyle, you're needed on the Best Unknown Song thread. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: Amergin Date: 06 Apr 01 - 08:06 PM Why is that? Your wit is not great enough to handle it on your own? |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 08:13 PM It's been ready for an hour, but I wanted to give gargoyle a chance. I just tried to do a Forum Search on Peter T. to see if he has ever mentioned a folk song a folk tune or blues. The Forum Search bogged down. I wan't watching all the time, so don't wnen it bogged down. I gave up after 6 minutes. Let's hope we don't have to search for something relevant to folk songs, tunes or blues. It doesn't seem like we can get there from here. |

Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: kendall Date: 06 Apr 01 - 08:19 PM ZEUS, save me from control freaks. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: CarolC Date: 06 Apr 01 - 09:15 PM You can do a search in the forum under "Bob Dylan" to see some musical discussion from Peter T. But then you have to determine whether or not Bob Dylan sings folk music. Good luck with that one... |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 09:39 PM No controls. Love live anarchy! Let Mudcat is now almost as irelevant to folk music as rec.music.folk is. Why do we need to of them. Amergin, I've been here a lot longer than you have. Why don't you go to rec.music.folk and take all the irrelevants with you. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,A Friendly Reminder Date: 06 Apr 01 - 10:02 PM Folks, Peter T knows he is appreciated and respected here, and is in no need of defense. The comments posted here to get people riled up can just be ignored, remember? Let's all just turn our attention to the wealth of other positive topics and resources of the Mudcat. Post a song, help a newcomer find something, create a music thread, clean up your PM archive... you know, any of those things you'd be doing here right now if this thread had not gotten started and grabbed your attention by pushing your buttons. Or even sign off and practice guitar? A Member Who Does Not Care to Draw Fire This Time Herself. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: CarolC Date: 06 Apr 01 - 10:08 PM Who's defending? Our guest requested information, and I have attempted to direct him/her toward it. I thought that's what we did around here. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: MMario Date: 06 Apr 01 - 10:09 PM or search for one of the missing tunes for the DT database. List of tunes missing from the fall '99 edition of the DT available by pm or e-mail. About 2400 of 3800 still to go. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 10:23 PM I've already contributed many songs and tunes to the DT and others to the forum and tunes to MMario's requests. What has Peter T. contributed along these lines to DT or this Forum? This Forum is getting trashed, and I don't like it because I've put a lot into it.

Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: CarolC Date: 06 Apr 01 - 10:27 PM GUEST #1, how can the presence of things in this forum that don't interest you prevent you from getting out of this forum the things that do interest you? |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: Ebbie Date: 06 Apr 01 - 10:27 PM We'll never know, GUEST#1. Ain't it hell not to get credit? :) Ebbie |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 10:35 PM Why should I be the one to leave, Amergin. You've been here posting for 14 months. I've been posting for 53 months, and have far more postings than you. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,also avoiding being a target Date: 06 Apr 01 - 11:05 PM And we are to take the word of an anonymous bastard for proof of that? Gargoyle, quit talking to yourself and come out of the closet. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 11:25 PM To tell the truth, I have no idea who Gargoyle might be. I just wish he/she would show up here. Why? do we 'really' need two of you? -Bert |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 06 Apr 01 - 11:40 PM Who's the anonymous bastard but the one calling such naughty names. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,marty D Date: 07 Apr 01 - 12:54 AM Finally after all these months, one of the Morons I was warned about shows up. I wasn't around for the "real" Gargoyle, but this guy seems to have most of the traits. Are you nuts or something? Peter T, apart from being in all the "musicians help" threads, posts constantly in threads about old blues and non commercial country music. Or does that kind of folk music not get your attention? He's one of the most helpful people around here. Sorry for the rant. I usually keep to the guitar threads, but there's a limit. Martin Dawson |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: Amergin Date: 07 Apr 01 - 02:50 AM Guest, I have no idea who the fuck you are, nor do I care. I also do not give a shit how long you have been here. All I care about is the snide comments you have been leaving left and right here. The so-called golden age of mudcat (if indeed there ever was such a thing) is done and over with. Deal with it and move on. Either accept it or leave. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: Roger in Sheffield Date: 07 Apr 01 - 04:17 AM Am I missing something? Is this a rubbish thread about the abscence of interesting music threads? just a suggestion but why not start some music threads yourself anonymous one? If you have then I am sorry I must have missed them, your mudcat name is not familiar to me. Which suggests that nothing you have ever posted has been of interest to me, or that you have changed your mudcat name? The other names mentioned on this thread are familiar to me as reasonable people who have posted very useful information or ideas. Life is to short for this bitter crap........ Roger |

And I'll keep at it until Max uses email return addresses on all postings, as is normal almost everywhere else. So is it working for you? Do you think you're accomplishing what you say you want to do? How long do you think you can swim upstream before you burn out? |

Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: Jeri Date: 07 Apr 01 - 05:47 PM Your hero gargoyle has done more to promote BS than anyone. The "Mudcat Tavern" threads started as a backlash, and I doubt they would have existed if not for him. The Tavern threads spawned numerous others. As for saying you're not a control freak, you can describe what you're trying to do any way you want, but it's still an attempt to control what goes on here. It's not only a pain in the ass, but it's futile. Either you're incredibly naive, and believe you can actually get every single person here to behave the way you want them to by pissing them off, or you're not really concerned about the BS level and you're after something completely different. Perhaps you simply want some attention. It's also possible that you're frustrated because people won't behave the way you want, and you're just venting. It still would be embarrassing - perhaps more of a reason for anonymity than fear of being held accountable. I guess when one gets emotional enough, reason goes out the window. Max never cared much for that e-mail address on postings idea, did he? Guess he doesn't want to obey you any more than the rest of us. I don't think the ultimatum will work any better. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,Avoiding being a target Date: 07 Apr 01 - 06:40 PM Hey people, it IS Gargoyle! Bad spelling. incoherent syntax. (especially at night) nastiness. Garbled Bible stuff. (you'll have to check Peter's thread that G is trying to ruin, for that) Too many coincidences NOT to be the Greg-man himself. Sorry guy, we handle this stuff MUCH better these days. But what the hey, the more the merrier! Former target |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 07 Apr 01 - 06:46 PM Perhaps you simply want some attention.
Got it in one. So leave him play on his own. Over and out. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 08 Apr 01 - 01:24 AM Amergin, the only one that makes rules here is Max, and yor comments mean nothing, and he (and others) certainly know who I am and can block me from the Mudcat Forum at any time they like. I'm to the point that I don't much care if that happens. |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: Sorcha Date: 08 Apr 01 - 01:29 AM You know that a lot of our e mails addresses are on the Resource page.......if you want open e mail addys, where is yours, sweetheart? I have another one, too, sorchaout@hotmail.com Amergin's comments mean more than yours do; they make sense, and he is not trolling. Are you having fun yet? Is it good for you? Laffing at you, honey. You are just too, too out of it......luv ya! Blessed be thee! |
Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#2 Date: 08 Apr 01 - 01:57 AM This is actually kind of fun.......we can drive #1 batty doing this. All you have to do is put #6--pound sign and a number in the from box...don't use Guest, or it shows up as GUEST GUEST.........hee hee hee. There are lots of numbers to use.........maybe I'll switch again. No, I probably won't. I like myself, and my name. Besides, #666 is already taken by #1. Who else could it be? A gargoyle is a demon, and we know who rules the demons, don't we? OK, I'm done with this game. Next game? |

Subject: RE: BS: Gargoyle! From: GUEST,#1 Date: 08 Apr 01 - 12:03 PM No, but you just might be mistaken for a guppie. Keep those insults coming, best trivia Mudcat's had for a long time.
