I was once in a band which bore the name "Joint Effort" with some considerable justification. Needless to say, it didn't last too long.

I later joined a band named "Cary Grant and let the rest walk". It didn't last too long either.

Picking a name is one of the more exasperating things for most folks trying to get a band of the ground. There have been several threads on the topic, with several suggestions. My personal favs were "Hokey Pokey & the Druids" and "Suds & Spuds", both suggested for groups doing mostly Irish/Celtic material. We took our name from an obscure slip-jig, which we later learned and didn't like and don't play. We kept the name, though. Good luck. If you let an "outsider" pick a name, at least it cits down on possible gripes within the group.

The other night at music we came up with 'Skunk in Crawl Space'(SIC), but decided, since Alaska doesn't have skunks and does have lots of porcupines that it should probably be 'Porky Under Porch' (PUP). I don't suppose this helps?
