See John Hardly here

If this works you can see some fun I had last week organizing an open mike for Acoustic Guitar Magazine's "Guitar Talk" forum.

If the link works, you click on "file sharing" then in the download options I'm the guy kicking off "Red-Haired Boy" and I wrote a talking blues for the occasion under "millring" (mostly inside humor for that forum).

JOhn, would love to see it, but when I click on file graphics, I get a page that says the addy if wrong or incomplete. If you post the right one, I cna fix your link for you. Thanks! kat

Darn, My first attempt at a link (I took CK's thread about the difficulty of html as a challenge :o)) and It doesn't work. Actually, I can use it but I suppose that's because I posted it?

Hi, John. I was able to use the link and got as far as the file sharing but when I tried to download "Millring" it sort of disappeared... but then, I'm not very clever at these sorts of things. Sounds like fun! Margaret

John, when I use your second addy I still get an error message. I've tried playing around with it, but it doesn't want to work for me.

Maybe this is a clue? When I get click on the file sharing and it goes to the "Home Page, Sorry message, a weird bit of html code is visible across the top of the page, which reads like this:

BORDER=0 HEIGHT=32 WIDTH=96 SRC="http://itools.mac.com/i/ma/1/nav/nv_tabs_icards.gif">

Hope you can get it figured out as I really would like to see this.:-)

I don't know if it's worth it but the folks at Guitar talk that have had trouble have found that they had to download the newest version of QuickTime to make it work.

I just downloaded the newest version of QuickTime and rebooted. Still no luck. Too bad, I'd really like to see this as well.

This makes no sense because essentially these folks are getting to the same site (from a different starting point) but below are links from two different sites where people seem to be able to make the link.

Are you at least getting the "theatre/file sharing-graphite page?
if so, when you click download, do you get a blue circle with a slash in it (this indicates the download has started)

This is kinda embarrassing. I really wanted to share my project with you but...guess 'twasn't to be..

It's also a little embarrassing because, if successful, it will still take 15+ minutes to download. I'd love to share my project but don't want to waste anyone's valuable time.

Well, I'm not sure what is happening here, but I just followed the original link (at the top of this thread), and it worked just fine. I would suspect a problem with the version or installation of Quicktime.

And I think it is worth seeing, several times.

Got it, John! Wow!! I downloaded an update of Quicktime and it didn't take but just a minute or two for each one. Millring was hilarious and your fingers are way too fast in Wecher Boy! **BG** Wow, pretty fancy picking, strumming, drumming there; didn't even know one person, with only two hands, could do all of that! Also, looks like a neat bunch of pickers. Thanks for putting up with our whining...sorry it took me so long to take the advice given above. Great stuff!

Thanks,

kat

Thanks kat!

I'm glad you were able to get it. I'll fix a link for some of the other performers as we get them loaded onto a website.--JH
