It looks like the grand transmogrification of the threads back in the spring caught a request for this song. Did anyone post the lyrics? I am trying to work up an editor macro for Irish to Pseudo Phonetic translation (mostly to eliminate all those h's) so the original gaelic would be great. I could then compare it to the Mary O'Hara recording.

Also does anyone have the English words which I believe are "For Ireland I'll not say her name"

Meg Davis has a recording on the Lismor label called "The Claddagh Walk" and that is the first track but getting it is proving a problem here in Calgary. One of our chain stores' computers actually lists it as an "unavailable item"

Frank

Several filk-music dealers carry Meg Davis; have you tried a websearch on "Davis" and "Claddagh"?

If you can't track it down, and are willing to pay extra for the US/Canada mail hassles, let me know by next Wednesday (Nov. 26), since I'll be at a convention where filk is sold. I know I've seen it on tape; I expect it's on CD too, but I haven't checked.

According to my records there are two sung versions, one by Makem & Clancy on their Concert album, as well as their Collection album. Mary O'hara also has a sung version on her Ireland album. Boys of the Lough have recorded two versions, on their Tradition album, and on Boys of the Lough 2.
