There is a group from the north of Germany, around Kiel, named Black Bush. They record primarily in English and have performed in Germany, Denmark, UK and US. After recording 2 CDs, they changed personnel. Their only founding member and lead singer is Detlev Wittenberg. I don't have a current address for the group, but one can be located if anyone is interested.

If you'd like to find the German group, Black Bush, to see if there would be any conflict with your new band name, you might want to contact Mystic Seaport in Connecticut, where Black Bush performed at the 1999 Mystic Seaport sea music festival. Try them at:

www.mysticseaport.org/communicate/tell.us.html

and put "Attn: Forebitter." (they are the singers who organize the fest)

Hmm. Funny, Spaw, I was thinking the same thing. One could follow up with Blonde Bush, Red Bush as sequals, I suppose.

"the distant cousin Dubya was forbidden to speak of as a chile..."

Would that be Black or Red Bush?

Wide Open could be quite a good name too...

Blackbush, the whiskey was always called "Shirley Bassey" among the crews of many British merchant ships, especialy those from Welsh ports, i.e. "Two pints and a Shirley Bassey"

Black Bush, the German group, produced "Call the Cat" which included an interesting rendition of the Mingulay Boat Song and Harvest Home. Chanteys and Hornpipes with a German accent. Saw them at Mystic in 99 too.
Cheers,
Brian
