Subject: Lyr Add: HIGH MOUNTAIN MEADOW From: Genie Date: 07 Oct 01 - 11:29 PM HIGH MOUNTAIN MEADOW When the springtime comes dancing through the Rockies And the oak and the aspen turn to green, We will hitch up the horses to the wagon And I'll take you to the mountains, to a place you've never seen. Through the long and lonely winter we have courted, Sharing dreams and walking through the snow. We will marry when the river starts to running; In a high mountain meadow, I'll build you a home. And our songs will echo through the mountains As we spend our time together, all alone. When the springtime comes dancing through the mountains, In a high mountain meadow, I'll build you a home. Now the coals in the fire are brightly glowing Like the love that lies warm within our hearts. In your eyes I can see the fire a glowing As we talk about the springtime, when we never more will part. And our songs will echo through the mountains, As we spend our time together, all alone. When the springtime comes dancing through the Rockies, In a high mountain meadow, I'll build you a home. When the springtime comes dancing through the Rockies, In a high mountain meadow, I'll build you a home. In a high mountain meadow, I'll build you a home. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: high mountain meadow From: Artful Codger Date: 15 Nov 11 - 06:37 PM Merge Left, who recorded the song, credit the song to Bob Amos of Front Range; there's a clip on YouTube of them singing the song in a coffeehouse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_GWisZQ4T4 There's a (bootleg?) CD set made of Front Range playing at the Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival Beyers (1995); "High Mountain Meadow" is listed on the first CD, track 3. The song may have been recorded on an early album which is now out of print. If you want the full scoop, try contacting Bob Amos directly through his website: http://www.bobamos.com/ |
