Subject: Farewell Mudcat From: Bedubya Date: 25 Apr 01 - 04:17 PM Well folks, I have done that thing which all artists and amateur musicians are perpetually advised not to do. I have quit my day job to devote more time to picking, throwing pots and gardening. Unfortunately, along with the job, I am also forfeiting this nice computer and free Internet access. Since I don't have a computer at home (yet) I'll be out of touch for an unspecified period. Good luck to all. If you're sick, get well. If you're well, stay that way. Until We Meet Again, Bruce |
Subject: RE: BS: Farewell Mudcat From: jeffp Date: 25 Apr 01 - 04:18 PM I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. Perhaps your local library has computers on which you can give us updates and keep up contacts. Godspeed. jeffp |

Subject: RE: BS: Farewell Mudcat From: katlaughing Date: 25 Apr 01 - 05:31 PM I know how hard it can be to make such momentous decisions. Congratulations and may you have all that you wish for and need. Please do check out the libraries and/or we've been looking at internet access refurbished laptops and found them for around $2-300, so maybe soon, you can have one at home? They are good for bookings and websites, too, ya know,as well as putting your stuff on mp3. Keep in touch as you are able. Fare well and fare safe, katlaughing |
Subject: RE: BS: Farewell Mudcat From: Mr Red Date: 25 Apr 01 - 05:58 PM Good luck with the potting. I had to give up pottery during divorce because of the day job and I didn't fancy my own company every night. sold the kiln and wheel etc. The good news is I did enjoy the good time I was having. (and how!). The day job sucked but, hey it funded the good time. Hope the picking picks up. |

Subject: RE: BS: Farewell Mudcat From: Helen Date: 25 Apr 01 - 07:08 PM Hey Bedubya, All of the above and more. I envy you knowing what your dream is. I gave up the day job and I'm only just figuring out why I am so reluctant to go back to anything similar - and the answer is that until I am happy doing what I want to do I don't want to waste my time and energy on doing what employers want. It can get tough financially (like for the last few months with me) but the scary bits are nothing compared to the fun and joy of doing what I know is right for me. So, be yourself and enjoy it to the max (Mudcat pun, sorry!). Helen, in Oz |
