Looking for the lyrics to a song I heard many years ago. It´s a humorous song telling the story of a family poking fun at one family member for inheriting nothing other than a simple armchair from granny after she passed on. Later on it transpired that that armchair contained much more than padding and springs, namely wads of money.

Not really sure about the title but the chorus went something like this:

How they tittered How they chaffed How my brothers and my sisters laughed When they heard the lawyer declare Granny has left me her old armchair

Would really appreciate any help on this.

Thaks

JB

chorus
How they tittered, how they chaffed. How my brothers and my sisters laughed. When they heard the lawyer declare "granny has gone and left you the old arm chair"
can't be accurate on any more, I'm sure others can give you more.

if you read sheet music - the thread pointed to above will give you a link to the Lester Levy Sheet music site - and the music is posted there.

Hate to say this, but why have 2 threads going at the same time? Wouldn't it be better to continue this thread here ... Lyr Req: grannie's old armchair.

Cheers!
Ian
