Subject: Auction of Ramblin' Jack's Movie From: annamill Date: 04 May 01 - 12:34 PM I am about to open a video store and I have just bought 5 VHS tapes of "Ballad of Ramblin' Jack", written, directed and produces by his daughter Aiyana Elliot. I haven't seen it, but I fully intend to watch it tonight. I'm keeping one for my store and auctioning off the other 4 here. I paid $12.79 for the tape and will start the auction with that amount + shipping. I'll take care of handling ;-) Shipping couldn't be more than a couple of bucks so I'll start it at $14.79. If it's more I'll take care of it. If it's less, I'll send it to Mudcat. Anything over that amount will be sent to the 'cat. Now, question is, is anyone interested?? Love, Annamill |

Subject: RE: Auction of Ramblin' Jack's Movie From: Sarah2 Date: 04 May 01 - 09:56 PM Oh, excellent! I met the man once -- he actually played a gig in Amarillo. Buck Ramsay (cowboy poet, a good man and true) had a small party for him after the gig. Four of us sitting on the kitchen floor (not Buck; he was permanently in a wheelchair from a riding accident) trading songs and sipping too much whisky till the sky began to lighten in the east... I'd love to have one of these. Sarah |

Subject: RE: Auction of Ramblin' Jack's Movie From: annamill Date: 07 May 01 - 09:12 AM I saw this movie Friday night and I have to tell you that anyone that loves folk music should have this movie. If you don't buy it here, just make sure you get it. There was footage from the Carter family, actual home movies of the Guthrie family including Woody playing. There was a lot more, and I'm going to watch it agian. Again, I get the feeling that I was born too late. This movie brings you there though. Love, annamill
