Oh, what an opportunity! Please tell me they'll be touring the states as well, like for instance, the southern New Hampshire area...

Animaterra,

Can't answer that, but I know that at least McManus has his tour dates on his website.

Tony McManus' web site lists tours until September. Darn! I missed him when he was nearby!

For those nearer Toronto, the Flying Cloud has both John Renbourn and Tony McManus in separate concerts:

John Renbourn - Sunday, Sept. 16th

Tony McManus - Sunday, Sept. 23rd

The Goderich weekend including workshops sounds excellent, however!

Cheers Rana

Refresh...

This has attracted some attention, and I'd hate for interested Mudcatters to miss it by delaying their purchase too long. I'll be there for the whole week-end (I live about a block from the hall) and it might be a good time for some 'Catters to get together.

Anyone interested?

Mooh.

Just saw McMannus in concert with Alistair Fraizer. He is incredible, and quite moddest about being the worlds greatest guitarist. Had an excellent workshop with Renbourne a few years back. Had a workshop with Bensussan last year and I was a bit disapointed with the quality of instruction, but to each his own. It looks like a great bill.

Saw JR in Glasgow quite recently with Jacqui McShee. Brilliant. If you have any of his old albums John will probably be happy to sign them for you.

Mooh, If we weren't otherwise working, I'd be there. Did you get the Art Thieme CD in the mail? Thanks for putting up with us at the festival.

Phil,

Yes, thanks, we did get Art's cd! Glad to see you made it home in one piece. It took us the usual week or so to recover from the celtfest. Will you be back next year?

Btw, I'll try to remember to report back here with comments about the Guitar Summit for those who might like to try such a thing for themselves. If it's a success, I hope it can be done again.

Mooh.

The summit was great! I particularly liked Tony McManus, though Renbourn and Bensusan were very good too. Bensusan's workshop was the most intensive, Tony's and John's were real laid back. I got to play for Renbourn, which was pretty unnerving, and he was complimentary. All were quite personable and fun. The organizers are hoping to plan another summit next year. The attendees ranged from rank beginners to seasoned pros, but everyone came away with usefull knowledge. Lots of fine guitars, and fine guitar talk too.

How about next year?

Mooh.
