Does anyone know of any musicians/singers who are interested in starting a jam session in Wichita Falls? I've been trying to get something started here. If you're interested or know someone who is, contact me at Trisner52@aol.com

The genre would be wide open: folk, blues, Irish, or whatever.

Well I hope you can get something going. You're a bit too far to make the Dallas or Ft WOrth sessions - although there is a good one on Sat mornings at the town hall in Denton. I guess that's 90 minutes or so, though for you, isn't it? Myabe you should contact Mudcatter "Folk 1234" and see about heading his way. He's in OK, but I'm not sure how far ...

I guess it's best if you can get something going in Wichita Falls. Good luck!

Tom,

There was a couple who used to come up to the Pampa Chataqua each year to play with the Woody Guthrie freaks (of whom I am one...). They missed last year, though; and I'm senile, so I can't recall their names. I'll have to see if I can find said names in my correspondence with the Pampa folks. This may take a while (some days), so I'll put a trace on this and you watch for it to come back if it disappears, okay? I remember they're both lawyers (!), and got the Pampa folks their non-profit status worked out. Good folks and lonely in Wichita Falls.

Sarah

Tom,

Found 'em. No address or 'phone number, but you might go hunting for Bob and Lisa Hampton.

Bob is pretty diffident about his guitar playing abilities, so, if you happen to be the next David Rhea, you be nice, ya hear?

Sarah

There is a closer, but smaller venue too, in Marlow called SOAP (the Southern Oklahoma Acoustic Players). For info contact the Radio Shack Store in Marlow.
