If nobody turns up at the JA we'll see you there! Mum really enjoyed the Jolly Angler last week, I hope it's as good this week.

Cheers,

John

BTW, Elderflowers are in bloom!

Good to see that there is Folk Music happening there. I spent the first 21 or so years of my life in Newton Heath. JohnB now in Canada.

Sorry to jump on the Angler thread but I want to mention the Open Door again. Yes the beer's great as is the atmosphere. A really friendly club and, as you can see from the guest list Pauline's working really hard to make a go of it.

I'll be there to support Dave Jones on the 5th August, no doubt, if I can. No probs hijacking this thread, Harry... this one's over anyway.

Yes, I guess I got a bit uppity, after 21 years in Newton Heath, I got married and moved to Smithy Bridge, Littleborough. It was about a 5 min walk from Hollingworth Lake. Really nice area until they built all those bloody houses. We then did a big jump to Cananda, it makes me feel all nostalgic though not being able to go to all of the folkie things that you Mancunians and Lancastrians write about. So I will try to make up for it by going to the Old Songs Festival and as many other of the Ontario FF's that I can. Have fun. JohnB

Well, I shall be there tonight folks (Mon 18th June).

Brilliant folk club, very informal atmosphere - lots of lovely songs. I'll get there between 9 and 9.30...

It's on Ducie Street near Picadilly Train Station.

See you there folks!

Sorry folks, can't be there tonight in spite of what mum says! I'll certainly be there next week with mum and possibly Yvonne too.

You still fit for a sing tomorrow Noreen? I hope so.

John
