Subject: RE: Jolly Angler, Manchester From: GUEST,Harry Date: 12 Jun 01 - 04:46 PM Sorry to jump on the Angler thread but I want to mention the Open Door again. Yes the beer's great as is the atmosphere. A really friendly club and, as you can see from the guest list Pauline's working really hard to make a go of it. |
Subject: RE: Jolly Angler, Manchester From: Noreen Date: 12 Jun 01 - 10:51 PM I'll be there to support Dave Jones on the 5th August, no doubt, if I can. No probs hijacking this thread, Harry... this one's over anyway. |
Subject: RE: Jolly Angler, Manchester From: GUEST,JohnB Date: 13 Jun 01 - 12:37 PM Yes, I guess I got a bit uppity, after 21 years in Newton Heath, I got married and moved to Smithy Bridge, Littleborough. It was about a 5 min walk from Hollingworth Lake. Really nice area until they built all those bloody houses. We then did a big jump to Cananda, it makes me feel all nostalgic though not being able to go to all of the folkie things that you Mancunians and Lancastrians write about. So I will try to make up for it by going to the Old Songs Festival and as many other of the Ontario FF's that I can. Have fun. JohnB |
