Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: kendall Date: 28 Jun 01 - 08:05 AM I'm going. How do I find out if I can park my van on or near the fest. grounds for the weekend? |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Midchuck Date: 28 Jun 01 - 09:35 AM Kendall, it's a non-camping deal. It's on a college campus more or less in the middle of town. Parking is not a problem because it's a block or two walk from the university field house parking lots, and universities always have lots of parking for their athletic facilities, regardless of what they do for their academic aspects. But I don't know what the university's position is on people parking vans overnight and sleeping in them. Doesn't seem logical that there'd be any problem, but when did bureaucracies run on logic? We will probably come for the day Saturday unless someone hires us for that day. Peter. |

Thanks for breaking the news. *G* (bad words issuing forth from my neck) Friday night is Hardi's birthday so we will probably go then anyhow before heading off to camp or a motel. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Bat Goddess Date: 28 Jun 01 - 05:50 PM Curmudgeon and I are definite maybes -- depending on availability of a floor at a friends or prior commitments. Bat Goddess |

Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Sandy Paton Date: 01 Jul 01 - 07:12 PM You'll be able to spot me by the AAFOUF cap I'll be wearing, graciously presented to me by the the Chucks at Old Songs. I reckon they figured I deserved it! Thanks, midchuck! Sandy |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Susan A-R Date: 07 Jul 01 - 11:35 PM Refresh (I am beginning to feel like Animaterra) |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 08 Jul 01 - 08:31 AM Speaking of whom....(BG) Here's the scoop for me: My lovely daughter, whom the Old Songs crowd mostly met, has decided that she would rather focus her summer energies on music instead of sheep! Talk about a mother's dream come true! But the story gets better: I gave her about a week to think over her decision and on Friday called a few people to see if they knew anyone who would like a pair of registered, natural-colored 4-month-old Romney lambs. The second person I called said: "I'll be right over!!" and within an hour had paid cash for the babies! SO that frees us up for that weekend! BUT I've been offered free tix to Winterhawk in exchange for driving one of the sound techies there. I'm not sure I can afford Champlain, but I know it would be much more MY kinda music than Winterhawk. What to do, what to do...? |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 09 Jul 01 - 10:20 AM Well, after discussion with my darling daughter and encouraging PMs from Kendall, I've gone and ordered tix and am waiting to hear from them about dorm room availability. So I'll be there! Whatta kid I have- I showed her the web sites for Champlain and Winterhawk, and she flatly stated: "I'd rather go to Champlain!" That's my girl! |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Turtle Date: 09 Jul 01 - 11:36 AM Susan, I'm planning to be in Vermont at least through Saturday, and possibly Sunday as well. So put me on the "probably" list, unless the DM has other plans?? Turtle |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Susan A-R Date: 09 Jul 01 - 10:04 PM Turtle, I think the DM has plans for the previous Sunday and Tuesday. More anon. Yippee!!!!

Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Bat Goddess Date: 10 Jul 01 - 08:33 AM Looks like I have a place to crash in return for a ride. Curmudgeon may not come with me (have to talk to him when he gets home from work). This is looking more and more definite; plans are coming together. My this is a full music spring-summer-fall!!! Bat Goddess |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Turtle Date: 18 Jul 01 - 01:16 PM Well, Susan A-R and I will drive up Saturday morning all the long way from Montpelier :) Sounds like another Mudcat happening! (btw, there's apparently a great concert Friday night in Montpelier by the Village Harmony camp folks. We'll be there, if anyone else can make it.) Turtle |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Sandy Paton Date: 18 Jul 01 - 03:28 PM Karen K will be helping Folk-Legacy at the booth again, thank God, as son Rob will be handling WinterHawk for us on that weekend. I'll have some great stuff from Yazoo and Rounder Records, as well as our usual assortment. Come by the booth and browse. Sandy |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 18 Jul 01 - 05:24 PM I got the tix and have reserved a dorm room. We'll arrive late Friday afternoon. It'll be good to see new and old friends! |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Mike Regenstreif Date: 18 Jul 01 - 11:09 PM I'll be there and doing a bit of stage hosting. Mike Regenstreif |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Susan A-R Date: 18 Jul 01 - 11:20 PM YES!! Keep in mind, folks coming up the southern route on 89 on Friday, Mudcatters get one free dinner. Friday's African food. pm me for details. |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Midchuck Date: 19 Jul 01 - 09:58 AM Susan, is it cheating if I go around by 4, 100, and 107 and then up 89 just to get the food? P. |
Subject: RE: Champlain Valley Festival: Who's Going/ From: Susan A-R Date: 19 Jul 01 - 09:18 PM It is understood that a woodchuck will do ANYTHING for food. No travel restrictions, just one per Mudcatter ever, so if you are over here at a more convenient time, the option's still available to cash in. But if you want to go over the fence . . .
