Subject: RE: New member saying hi. From: Celtic Soul Date: 29 Jun 01 - 11:48 PM No, not Mingulay Boat Song, but the sound is similar. The version I heard was sung by a man with a fairly thick Scots accent, so it was difficult to make out much of what he said. It had a similar feel to that piece though, but more heavily celtic. Thanks! |
Subject: RE: New member saying hi. From: Sorcha Date: 29 Jun 01 - 11:45 PM Welcome, Celtic Soul! What you are asking for is a common refrain for sea chanteys--do you have anymore words at all? This Zoo is only dangerous near feeding time........what time is that at your house? LOL! Jump right in. |

Subject: New member saying hi. From: Celtic Soul Date: 29 Jun 01 - 11:36 PM Hello all. I have used mudcat for a few years now in searching out lyrics but have never taken a look into the forum until now. I am a singer/bodhran player in Virginia and have been involved in folk music for nearly 20 years. I am interested in finding the lyrics to a song called "Heave yo ho". Has anyone ever heard of this one? Thanks in advance! |
