Subject: Folk & Blues website for Kids From: Pegean Date: 01 Jul 01 - 05:51 PM I started collecting sites to help expand the kids pages here and it got out of hand so determined to just set up a site on its own. http://kidsmusicstream.homestead.com Hope it will expand children's interaction with folk and blues and add sites you like as it will just keep expanding. Thanks to those who encouraged me to just go do this because of my associations with Mudcat. Pegean *S* |

Subject: RE: Folk & Blues website for Kids From: Oversoul Date: 01 Jul 01 - 10:33 PM If I had kids I think they would be better off not knowing about "the Blues." I would teach them things like intonation, sight reading and harmony. They can pick up the trashy aspects of life later, on their own terms. At 15 I thought BB King was corny, at 20 when I first heard Big Bill Broonzy...I was taken away with joy. Let the kids find their own way with the personalities, just expose them to good playing habits and a wide range of musical expressions. |
