The World Music cafe is up and running with some of the finest World Music you'll hear anywhere already on board.

Our first artists are Australia's finest female voices, Kate Burke and Ruth Hazelton as well as the high energy band, Katyusha.

Kate and Ruth sing traditional and modern folk songs with honey-dripped voices and sweet guitar accompaniment. Already highly sought after on the Australian festival circuit, these two will no doubt become an act to rival the likes of Waterson Carthy.

Katyusha on the other hand, play a mix of high energy pieces from most corners of the globe. Their playing is fast, furious, but as tight and shiny as pair of new leather pants. They even manage to give a fresh face to traditional Irish tunes with their slap-bass accompaniments and fiery-fiddle playing.

Why not have a listen to these and other great artists at The World Music Cafe. New submissions are welcome. Email worldmusiccafe@chaos-lounge.com

Uh, Katyusha rocks. Never seen them play or anything, but I've got some mp3s of theirs around here. That's all. Oh, one other thing: the red text on blue gives me a headache, but that may just be me. Otherwise, great stuff. :)
