As a sometimes visitor, but rare contributor I was at a Rothbury Traditional Festival in Northumberland UK last weekend when someone I have seen here won the Open Songwriting Competition, with Johnny Handle in 2nd place!!!
I wanted to draw it to your attention, So well done..

Well ,thank you all,

The song that won the prize is in Aines Mudcat songbook, "My Grandfather hated the Germans" and I have sung it on Paltalk!!
I am completely gobsmacked by this. I was talked into entering the competition, Graham Pirt was the judge, (but I didnt introduce myself until after the competition),and the standard of the entries was excellent, I didnt think i had a hope in hell
