I think there is an old thread about playing your instrument on the toilet & bathroom acoustics but have you ever tried the outhouse? I am told it is amazing!
This weekend at a cabin with some friends, one of the guys spent most of the time playing his guitar in the outhouse. He said the vibration from the plywood walls had so much to offer. That it was just like being inside a guitar.
Personally I think the smell would interfere with my creativity plus the flies can be quite distracting. Maybe I should try playing my banjo on a bidet? I bet all that rushing water would offer background nature sounds. Why I could start a new line of banjo solitude music.

Bonnie, I would think the vocals might sound a little nasal. Plus, how do you play guitar with one hand while the other is holding your nose?

Sounds like a great venue to me, although some "holier than thou" folks may raise some objections. Try "Cold Frosty Morning" followed by "Home with the Girls in the Morning."

Alistair Anderson used to tell a tale of a ragtime concertina player called 'Netty Roll Morton' before playing the Entertainer. (Netty - dialect word for the shed at the bottom of the garden, i.e. outside toilet)

Hey, if you've ever heard the Mark Johnson album "Clawgrass" with the Rice brothers, you'll be surprised to learn that a couple of the songs were recorded in Tony Rice's bathroom. Mark stood in the bathtub playing banjo. Heard it from Mark himself!! Great acoustics in the bathroom. But, when they all decided they had a good thing going, they finished the album in a studio. More comfortable, I'm sure.... Margo

When I first got a melodeon yonks back I had to play it sitting five feet down at the bottom of the inspection pit in the a crumbling garage at the end of the garden (as she who used to have to be obeyed decreed that the melodeon was not a musical instrument)
I can't say it did much for the sound, and I used to get a lot of oil on my bum from the bottom of the pit.
