I keep hearing about the session in The Jug in Selby, and thought it would be a good idea if a few of us went one night.A few of the taxi companies have minibuses, if we went that way it would probably be only a couble of quid each, and we would not have to worry about drink-driving etc, although at this rate of new members we might need a double decker bus.If anybody is intersted, just write your name here, also if you can reccomend a taxi/minibus co. add that as well. Here is a list of Hull Catters, have I missed anybody?

I'm sure that Maggie and I would be happy to revisit the Jug, and a minibus full of Hull 'catters sounds a very sensible idea. Perhaps we could have return visits with sessions/singarounds that are just a bit further away than we would normally travel.

While we've got a Hull thread I'd better mention this:

"Fancy a night out with a difference, then why not join the Yorkshire Coast Community – Rail partnership Entertainment Train? We have teamed up with Arriva Trains Northern, the Hull branch of The Campaign For Real Ale and the Bridlington station buffet to provide a fun packed evening of live music good food and drink. Saturday 4 August sees the launch of our first ever train departing Hull 2016 for Bridlington and returning at 2240."

The train is the normal service train, stopping at almost every station (actually it's every station but one but I can't remember which one!) Providing the entertainment on this train will be Maggie and Les (the Kingston Duo - he he!) and friends (always assuming that there's anyone who'll admit to being a friend). Be there or be somewhere else!

Les

It's Arram that the Hull Folk Train 'don't stop here anymore'. So we'll apologise now to our legions of fans in and around Arram.

Les, do you have any schedule of trains beyond 4 August? My wife and I will be in Staffordshire the week of 8-15 Sept., and this might be something we'd like to do.

These trains are arranged locally, so I've no idea if there's anything similar that runs down there. Perhaps you should start a thread asking about what's going on in that area then and people could tell you about folk trains, boats, festivals, clubs, sessions or singarounds so that you can make a selection.

Just to update - we should have two units on the train (four carriages) and we have two lots of musicians - the aforementioned Kingston Mob and also some of the regulars from the Polar Bear. So we aim to do half a train each and change at Driffield.

Graham - Sam's always there and ian (most of the time but he's off to uni in september) and bill hardly misses a wednesday...oh the joys of being deafend by sam on one side and ian on the other.....i'm only a poor lickle whistle player......i can't even hear myself play bodhran with them two....but they rock anyway...and sam's a great accordion teacher!!

Dorrie - u have to come down to the jug again. Don't u live near beverley or summat?
