Subject: New Radio Episodes on Mudcat from WFDU From: Max Date: 24 Jul 01 - 01:49 PM Just posted a bunch of new Radio Broadcasts from our good friend and Mudcat member Ron Olesko from WFDU in New Jersey USA. I listened to all of them, and they are fantastic in content and quality. The Gary Davis episodes with Stefan Grossman are my favorite cause I dig the Rev. and Stephan. Check them out on the radio page or here:

Subject: RE: New Radio Episodes on Mudcat from WFDU From: BH Date: 24 Jul 01 - 07:44 PM Just a little addendum to say that, obviously, we both--Ron & I are appreciative of all your comments. We are also proud and delighted with our subjects---who are the real talents exposed here. On a personal note I hope you all give a listen to Rande Harris---with Pete Seeger's intro and his smooth and fluid style --and great insights--he is a delight to hear. There are more a comin' soon. Some exciting surprises. Ron is working hard on all this wonderful computer magic lantern type of thing. Bill Hahn Co Producer/Host Tradtions WFDU 89.1 FM Teaneck NJ www.wfdu.fm |

Subject: RE: New Radio Episodes on Mudcat from WFDU From: WFDU - Ron Olesko Date: 25 Jul 01 - 07:34 PM Wow! You are giving Bill and myself swell heads! We will be posting additional shows. It is wonderful that Bill and I have this opportunity to share all the programs that we've worked on. We are lucky to broadcast in the largest radio market in the world, but having the chance to share our programs around the world is an amazing opportunity. Add to that the FACT that we are now able to share these shows with the worlds largest folk audience right here at Mudcat!! Again, Bill and I thank you. Ron |
Subject: RE: New Radio Episodes on Mudcat from WFDU From: wysiwyg Date: 25 Jul 01 - 07:39 PM Ron, Bill, I have been without computer sound for many months, and recently got the new fancy-schmancy computer. So the Mangsen-Gillette show was actually the first radio I plugged in, and WOW! Imagine how thrilled I was to see the new material too! I don't recall seeing the SESSIONS links there before-- is that new? Keep up the good work-- we need you "out here"! ~Susan |
Subject: RE: New Radio Episodes on Mudcat from WFDU From: WFDU - Ron Olesko Date: 25 Jul 01 - 08:00 PM THE SUNDAY SESSION is a show that I started two years ago. It is a Celtic music show that airs on WFDU every Sunday morning at 9am Eastern Time. Don't repeat this to anyone - but 99% of the time the show is pre-recorded. (I enjoy doing volunteer work at WFDU, but you would have to pay me to get me out of bed at that hour on a Sunday morning!) Since it is pre-recorded, it will be very easy for me to post it here. On THE SUNDAY SESSION I do interviews and special "themes" as well. My guests have included Sharon Shannon, James Keane, Karan Casey, the Old Blind Dogs, and many others. On August 5 my guest will be Green Linnet Records owner Wendy Newton. We will be discussing the 25th anniversary of Green Linnet Records. I am also planning a similar show in honor of Greentrax Records 15th anniversary. Bill Hahn and I will continue to make TRADITIONS programs available online. In the near future we will be adding shows with Peggy Seeger, Mary Gauthier, Ronnie Gilbert, a tribute to Josh White, and many others. Thanks again for your support! By the way... you can listen in to TRADITIONS and THE SUNDAY SESSION live through our website at www.wfdu.fm . Thanks again! Ron Olesko
