Subject: Ever heard of Pink Martini? From: Armen Tanzerian Date: 30 Jul 01 - 12:13 AM A sort of Euro-pop-jazz group from Portland, Oregon? The daughter of an old friend of mine is in it. Are they any good? I think they are starting to "happen". |

Subject: RE: Ever heard of Pink Martini? From: John Kidder Date: 30 Jul 01 - 12:25 PM Pink Martini does a wonderful song called "Je Ne Veux Pas Travailler". I caught it (forgive me) on a Starbucks sampler. johnk |
Subject: RE: Ever heard of Pink Martini? From: Art Thieme Date: 30 Jul 01 - 03:53 PM Pink Martini lived just up the holler from us a short piece. Stringbean wrote a song about her called, "Little Pink" or something like that. Her husband, Guido, owned the only pizza eatery in the mountains at that time. THE BAND named their large house BIG PINK as a tribute. Art |
Subject: RE: Ever heard of Pink Martini? From: Armen Tanzerian Date: 30 Jul 01 - 06:29 PM Yes, Bobbi, my late friend Cameron Forbes was her dad. I believe her sister Maya is a very big deal in the TV world in Hollywood -- she's written, produced and executive-produced some well-known sit-coms. Love the title Je Ne Veux Pas Travailler -- reminds me of Roll In My Sweet Baby's Arms: "I ain't gonna work on the railroad..." |
