First of all thanks to all you kind people who helped me out by providing details of festivals in Brittany. I did not get time to return your messages before I went to Brittany. I have just returned having had a wonderful time there. One of the highlights for me personally was the week long festival held at Quimper. I had the pleasure of listening to Crossroads. This is a band fronted by Mara from New Zealand. I had not heard of her since her days with Tansey`s Fancy and Mara so I was over the moon to listen to a "Free Concert". Once again thanks to everyone who responded. I can recommend Brittany to any one .I am only sorry I am not there for this weekend as it is the start of Lorient Festival. Cheers

Lucky old you Catrin. Good to catch up with you on Wednesday. Sorry about the floor show!

Finally I can use this line. A folk festival so good it was beyond Quimper! (ducks)

Me bruv, Free Reed, is orf to Begmeil is south Brittany again this year, so if you hear some shameless Britfolk busking by a handsome chap playing a Salterelle melodeon, buy him a baguette!

We've just got back! We were near Commana (Kermana) about 40 miles from Quimper - got the tee shirt!! We had a great time dancing in the Place de l'Eveque at the Festival de Cornouailles. We have returned complete with bombarde so if you hear us in a session near you we are probably still at home!

We were near St Malo years ago, and the highlight of our trip was to see the "Caledonian Pipe band of Stockholm"! That, and a festival I can't remember the name of. The climax was supposed to be this unique dance through the streets, and it turned out to be a version of Winster Gallop!
