Heard this tune as part of a set of three on Jock Tamson Bairns' May You Never Lack A Scone. Would like the midi or ABC or if the tune can be found under a different name?

Don't think so, at least not the BC tune I'm familar with. This tune is actually a jig.

Maybe this? It's Prince Charlie's Quickstep, but it is in 6/8.

"Prince Charlie's March" a jig? ... he must have had 3 legs. Seriously, why don't you try looking at the available tunes in JC's Tunefinder (which is where the others are looking).

Cheers!
Ian

Hey, Dulc,

I found a sample sound file for Prince Charlie's March @ the following:

http://www.jtbairns.com/samples.htm

I haven't figured out how to post the "blue clickies" for web sites and such.

Any how, the sample is only about a mintue and a half long, but it'll give you an idea of the chord progression, tempo, etc. Good tune. Have fun.
ScottyG

I checked out the above suggestions. Not the same at least to my ear hears. The JTB site has an MP3 and I haven't a way to convert it and can't successfully pick it up by ear. Thanks.

A little detective work (I looked at a review of the album) reveals that the tune is also known as News from Moidart or, more usually, Wha'll Be King But Charlie; under the latter title you will find it at JC's Tunefinder as indicated above.
