Subject: YORKSHIRE TEA WINNERS From: JeZeBeL Date: 04 Aug 01 - 05:56 PM Just like to say thanks for being such good sports with the bidding....including shipping fees which I am going to ask the winners to send to max aswell, the three boxes of yorkshire tea will have made a wopping $90 for mudcat. THE WINNERS OF COURSE ARE: Sorcha Hollowfox Blue Jay Each will recieve their box of yorkshire tea, a signed copy of the history of tea according to Bill Sables and his destructions on how to make the perfect cuppa. I think these three people, and everyone else who took part deserve a great big round of applause for their generous contributions to the cat. Sorcha, Hollowfox, Blue Jay... you do realise how many friends you're suddenly going to gain when you recieve the tea!! Let me know if anyone wants me to auction some more off in a few months. I wouldn't mind but this all started as a joke when sam told me about his little tins and I bet him I could get higher bids for teeeeea!! Well folks it worked. Ur stars, u all ROCK!! Emma xxx PS - would the winning three pm me thier adresses so I can send the tea. Sorcha has already given me hers I think. |
Subject: RE: YORKSHIRE TEA WINNERS From: Sorcha Date: 04 Aug 01 - 05:59 PM So how much is the shipping? |
Subject: RE: YORKSHIRE TEA WINNERS From: SINSULL Date: 05 Aug 01 - 05:32 PM Someone snuck in at the last minute and hijacked my tin. Please do auction some more. Maybe we can get Bill to include a morning's tea at the Getaway to sweeten (Now I am working on puns) the pot. |
Subject: RE: YORKSHIRE TEA WINNERS From: BlueJay Date: 06 Aug 01 - 03:21 AM Sorcha- If it is a U.S. shipment, the shipping will probably be three to five dollars. If overseas, which I think will be the case, it will be somewhat more. Perhaps Emma could let us know how much the shipping is, via PM. Maybe I missed it, but I'm unsure of the official Mudcat policy regarding shipping. But it seems fair to me that the winning bidders of an auction item should pay the shipping charge. I'm using my own twisted logic here, because I didn't think about shipping when I started to bid. But it seems to me that JeZeBel has not only offered up the tea for the Mudcat's benefit, but seems to be willing to pay the shipping charges up front, and generously asks that we include that charge in our contribution. So Emma's contribution of tea and apparantly unreimbursed shipping, has magnified that contribution, which is what the auction is designed to do. I feel her contribution is probably more important than my bid. Thanks, Emma. Can't wait to taste that tea! And definitely auction some more, if you can. I'll eventually run out. Thanks, BlueJay |

Subject: RE: YORKSHIRE TEA WINNERS From: SINSULL Date: 06 Aug 01 - 09:42 PM Hollowfox, I usually send payment to Max at Mudcat with a note asking him to notify the seller upon receipt. The address is found by clicking on the Fish In The Banjo. Gay St. in West Chester, I think. Did you usurp my tea? |
