Subject: Kids and food /cute sayings, habits, etc From: Deni Date: 14 Aug 01 - 01:25 PM I was just tickled by the compliments thread, so here goes with a saying from Rachael, who even at 4 had a wise head. She helped herself to a giant stick of celery, took a bite and spat it out. 'Ugh, that's disgusting.' So I said to her, 'Why'd'ya take such a big piece then?' She hit back, 'It tastes just as nasty no matter what size it is!!!' Come on, let's have yours. Deni |

Subject: RE: BS: Kids and food /cute sayings, habits, etc From: Hawker Date: 14 Aug 01 - 04:55 PM Deni! Amber my 6 year old came out with a pearler today in Tescos! We went into the ladies loos, and whilst washing her hands she asked me "what's in the machine on the wall?" Confidently, being an open sort of mum, I said "Condoms" you cannot believe the embarrasment that befell me when she asked, quite matter of factly......... "flavoured or ribbed?" Tamsyn, my 10 year old and I just disolved into hysterics! Lucy |

He then looked at me expectantly waiting for me to fix it!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Kids and food /cute sayings, habits, etc From: GUEST,Nancy King at work Date: 14 Aug 01 - 06:06 PM In my family, cottage cheese has always been called "gosh jeez," because one of my cousins called it that. My younger brother, at about the age of 4 or 5, noticed that the window shade in his room was torn, and announced that he wanted "Venetian blondes" for his room... Cheers, Nancy |

Subject: RE: BS: Kids and food /cute sayings, habits, etc From: Sorcha Date: 14 Aug 01 - 06:43 PM When she was little, Kate said she didn't "like" lasagna. I don't know how she knew that as she had never eaten it. We started calling it Pizza Noodles and boy did she chow down. The kids wouldn't eat Beef n'Barley soup until I started calling it Fat Rice. We know Kate is weird because we used to have a VCR with the pop-up ejector.....remember those? and one evening when she was not quite 2 she trotted to the bathroom, drug her potty chair in front of the TV, pushed the eject button on the VCR and took out the raw broccoli she had stored there.........nonchalantly sits in her potty chair naked munching broccoli........we're dyin' here...... |
Subject: RE: BS: Kids and food /cute sayings, habits, etc From: SharonA Date: 14 Aug 01 - 07:07 PM When I was a young kid, I called cottage cheese "college cheese". From then on, the family name for it was "educated cheese". |
Subject: RE: BS: Kids and food /cute sayings, habits, etc From: GUEST,Denise:^) Date: 15 Aug 01 - 03:28 AM One night, at the picnic table, my younger sister announced that she'd like some of that "pickle rubbish" on her hot dog... |
Subject: RE: BS: Kids and food /cute sayings, habits, etc From: Deni Date: 15 Aug 01 - 04:51 AM These sayings are brilliant. They will keep me going for weeks, when I'm stuck for conversation. I'll carry around a mental image of the little one with the broccoli store....and I know Amber, she's this really cute blonde child with the most innocent face you've ever seen...until she chuckles... All you parents with fussy kids, take Sorcha's tip and rename everything. I'm going to try it... Deni |
