Subject: yinglish - vest From: GUEST,adrmike@yahoo.com Date: 15 Aug 01 - 12:53 AM I am looking for words to a yinglish song about the purchase of a suit that, as it wore out, was made into a vest, thence smaller & smaller things until a 'shnipsila' and finally a 'goonishal' [a nothing]. adrmike@yahoo.com |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: yinglish - vest From: Mark Cohen Date: 15 Aug 01 - 05:01 AM I've looked through my Yiddish song collections and can't find it. It's a version of "I Had an Old Coat", which is in the Digital Tradition, but the title was mistyped as "I Had an Coat". (Tried to do a link but the server wasn't working). Joe Offer and Fedele are two 'Catters with extensive collections of Yiddish songs, and I'm sure there are others I can't think of now, so be patient and I'm sure you'll have your answer soon!
