He was known for stop bleeding & heal the burns, and miner ailments like worms in children. He had some rules hat went with healing. The rule was, he could pass his powers to his blood relatives with more rule, a man could pass the power to a female blood relatives & she then passed it to a male blood relatives and so on, never pass to the same sex, I don't know what would happen if you did. He also would say a few words while circling the patient..this has been passed in my family and I wrote down the words he would say. I have never had to use it and don't know of any special powers. I do have dreams that came true, one was an airplane crash & my friend died, the next day it happened , creeped me out. |

Subject: RE: Need Info: Seventh son of a seventh son From: GUEST,chad Date: 12 Mar 16 - 07:29 PM i have a grate grate uncle named simon fortier and he was a seveth son of a seveth son there were no sisters born between him and his brothers there for he was the real deal. he possessed the power to stop pain .my mom explained to me how her sister my aunt fell on top of a lit barbecue when they were young and my moms dad called Simon and said please take the pain away and with in one minuet my aunt completely stopped crying she was no longer in any pain but instead completely relaxed but this is not my question my question is can the 7th son of the 7th son pass on powers to family members and the reason why i am asking this is because my grandpa on my moms side has the ability to make both legs the same size because with any person one leg is longer then the other not by much but by a little and this can cause pain but my grandpa is able to some how make both legs the same size just by pushing on one and often times after he dose this the person is no longer in any type on pain. but my grandpa was born from Simmons sister so how can he possess this power when he is not from the 7th son of the 7th son. my mom also used to have this ability to sleep travel there is a name for it but i can not remember what it is but she used to be able to fall asleep and wake up outside of her body where she could go anywhere she wanted. so i am curious to fined out if it is at all possible for a 7th son of a 7th son to pass on a power or powers to different members of his family. |

A lady in our town said that her mother in law was a seventh daughter and could cure it. My desperate mom took me to her (she too was southern baptist and very religious). Anywho, my thrush literally cracked and peeled off of my mouth the very next day. It came back about a year later after taking antibiotics ad my mom called her to schedule an appt and she told mom just to put the phone up to my ear. This time it took about 2-3 days ,but cracked and peeled away also! This has always interested me bc i want to know how in the heck she does it (especially on the phone). Also, I am having problems with candida infection now and nothing seems to work in my 20s either so I'd be willing to try a seventh son/daughter out again. Anyone know of one in the Florida panhandle/alabama area? |

I do not know that I have very special powers but three years ago, I have taken Massage Therapy, Acupressure & Reflexology Techniques and also Nerve Dislocatin Resetting Techniques such as Tennis Elbows and / or Reverse Tennis Elbows, Bursitis, Tendonitis, Sciatic Pains, Headaches, Migraines and many other types of Pains. My rate is 95% and I do not know if that is lucky or if I have special powers but people tell me that I am their last resource. After having just a few sessions, they improved by 50% and with furhter sessions, they improved by 75 to 90%. Do I believe this mystical story of the 7 sons of the 7 sons? I got a good deal of Irish tradition from my parents, but I couldn't tell you if it came from their parents, or from the Irish maids their parents employed. My mother always said her grandmother was "fey". It was only shortly before she died that she would admit to being "fey" herself. I call it the whatsis, being reluctant to have that much faith in it. There was the time I got a strong sense not to walk down a certain street. I did. Two boys were tossing a football back and forth, and one of them got me good, right on the head. A three day headache!!! Since which time, if the whatsis says, don't go that way, I don't. but I refuse to take it really seriously. |

I grew up in a Babtist family.. her whole family was southern babtist and her husband my grandfather who died before I was born was a preacher. Anyways.. my grandmother had special healing powers. Like the post from Guestbj in Ireland, my grandmother could cure thrush mouth, ringwor, and instantly heal burns. She also "took away" the 10 warts that were on my hands that I had have burned off my doctors but kept returning. She was a religious women though the church would not recognize or understand this. So it was kept hush hush in my family. Grandma never advertised these gifts.. but the family after seeing so many miraculas healings.. accepted this.. bu t never talked about it. She had a 7th son (she had 12 children altogether) and he could also had special healing powers. He also had very bad epilipsey and died young (40's). But he was special.. he was kind and you could just visably see he was very special. I am glad to find other messages.. as I have not talked about this for many years. Sailing |

As she was young the illness surged through her body and was soon in every joint - changing our lives utterly in weeks. When a disaster like this happens - you look for an escape clause in reality. So one day my Mum was driving through a suburb of Birmingham (England this is - not Alabama)and she saw that an Irish 7th son of a seventh son was holding a healing ministry in one of those fundamentalist scout hut type churches. We took Denise along - figuring what the hell. It won't do any harm. as I remember the guy looked a bit Eamon Holmes that very engaging dark Irish handsomeness, and he wore a pale green suit was SO Mr Showbiz in the 1970's - which is when this happened. Most people had diseased arms,breasts etc and he laid his hands on them. But Denise was diseased all over so he advised her to bathe at midnight and into the bath put the earth from a freshly dug grave. So we thought what the hell. We did all that. However unsurprisingly this caused no improvement in her medical condition. I hope you find this helpful - its the only dealing I've had with 7th sons of seventh sons. |

No folklore on this (not much about in the bright, exceeding dry, air of Australia - but a friend's Dad was the 14th child of a 14th child. (His family lived in a sleepy little village on, the 'bush' side of the Great Dividing Range, called Sunny Corner ... and there wasn't much else to do at nights!) If the genders of the children of both generations followed the statistical norm, there's a pretty good chance that he was the 7th son of a 7th son - although I can't recollect any 'magical' aura about him. Now that the culture is slightly more sympathetic towards people with special gifts, I wonder how she'd handle it if she were alive today. |

Can't remember which of the "Road To..." movies it came from, but I was about 7 years old and my sister and I had the knack of learning all the songs in a movie and singing them all the way home. Couldn't do that now! ... Anyway, the presence of the concept in such a pop setting makes me think that the specialness of 7th sons etc was very well known half a century ago. It's a damn silly song anyway.

Usually the young man succeeded in whatever quest he was on because his luck, magical powers, and/or charm were phenomenal (due to his being a 7th son, of course). Grimm's is German, but for some reason I always thought of the 7th son tradition being Celtic-based? Sorry McPiper, but I don't recall anything that would imply that being a 7th son is less than wonderful. You may just have to gag your co-worker! Lin |

Only sons count. Alvin is a 7th son, but the oldest had been swept away in a river just before he was born. He has mystic power, but the next son who was also the 7th living son is also very powerful. |
