Tune Req: Tom Dewey

There seems to be a discrepancy between the music and the lyrics for the song, "Congratulations, Tom Dewey." There's not enough music for the lyrics; I think the tune for "will come true Here's a victory roar" is missing. I had trouble downloading the tune from Mudcat, so I got it from http://sniff.numachi.com/~rickheit/dtrad/lookup.cgi?ti=CONGRATS&tt=CONGRATS Can you help? Thanks, Tony

Jeri - none of the ones that we've collected since I've started have been posted to the DT yet. Dick might know. I've tried to keep track (*grin*) and have copies of a lot of them.

I've tried messing with the midi on my computer here. Aside from the missing notes, the last three bars sound like something else is wrong. I'm not familiar with the song/tune, so it's difficult for me to guess what it should sound like with that end bit, even with the lyrics.

I'm guessing Dick is the one who put the tune in, and Dick's going to have to be the one to fix it unless someone has the tune in a book.

(Tony, amongst other accomplishments, once conducted a group of high school students in playing 'Nonesuch' on a bunch of George & Vaughn Ward's son's baby-toy plastic, snap-together 'bead' thingies, tuned by adding appropriate amounts of water.)
