Subject: RE: God@Heaven.Org From: iamjohnne Date: 24 Aug 01 - 07:32 AM One of the problems parents have with kids online is that the kids have their own shorthand and the language just doesnt make any sense. I cringe when I read " N E ! want to chat" or even worse is the "U R 4 ME" For those who dont get it, "Anyone want to chat?" and You are for me" Someday when I am too old to protest, these people will be running our country. I shudder at the thought. Johnne "Goin where the weather suits my clothes" |
Subject: RE: God@Heaven.Org From: SharonA Date: 24 Aug 01 - 09:51 AM Oooh, that IS a scary thought. Think of the laws they'll write up, dated "N congr S this 4 teenth day O sept M ber, 2 thouz N thir T..." |
Subject: RE: God@Heaven.Org From: Steve Parkes Date: 24 Aug 01 - 10:19 AM Why would anyone want to text the Lord's Prayer to anyone else? In this version, it only makes sense if the recipient knows it in the first place; in which case why not text "LRDS PRYR" and assume the other guy will at least think about it? This kind of thing is just a gimmick to promote text messaging, which will be obsolete ina year or two as bandwidth increases. Kids today, eh? It's all right, I'll shut up again now! Steve |
Subject: RE: God@Heaven.Org From: A Wandering Minstrel Date: 24 Aug 01 - 10:56 AM Maybe this will lead to the revival of the old navy custom of sending short pithy messages by signalling an appropriate chapter and verse reference to the bible John 1,1

Subject: RE: God@Heaven.Org From: GUEST Date: 24 Aug 01 - 01:46 PM The title of the thread reminds me of Aa, Megamisama!/Oh, my Goddess! a Japanese manga/anime series in which (in a riot of literary and religious motifs drawn from around the world, with names from Norse mythology forming the core) the heavens are shown as the realm of a vast cosmic computer system. |
