Anouncement, a new thread suggestion?

Subject: Announcements, a new thread suggestion?

We now seem to be seeing regular Obituaries of folkies and others.

These are very interesting, if a little sad.

I am not suggesting that these should stop.

However as a point of balance it would be encouraging to see announcements of new folkies coming into the world.

Or annoucements of notable achievements, personal or of world shattering importance. Just to cheer us a little?

Yes, we are losing a lot, aren't we?

David Niven once remarked to Laurence Olivier that all his old friends seemed to be dying off. Olivier responded: 'frankly, my boy, I'm happy if my friends last through luncheon....'

However, I've often noticed that when something good or successful is reported on Mudcat, there are always a lot of encouraging messages posted in reply.
