I have recently seen a really good folk band called Banoffi, anyone else seen them?
One of the best Blues guitarists in Hull is called Harry Gurevitz, he has recorded a CD called Give Me 1349, if anyone is intersted I will post the detals.

John, some of us are researching spirituals posted at Mudcat, and looking out for the movement from them toward the blues. Want to help dig up some old good threads?

If so please PM.

Ray Stubbs---is this the same guy who hails from Newcastle [or did at one time] and did some t.v. acting besides being a musician? He used to be a regular at Hexham club some [some!] years back. Just curious----

Yeah I saw Banoffi at the Blue Anchor in Byfleet and I thought they were great! Really original and very entertaining. I remember the guitarist broke a string right in the middle of a really mad guitar bit, and he fixed it like 10 seconds flat, mucho impressive! One of the best live gigs I've been to I reckon, easy on the eye too as I recall... ;)
