Subject: Great North Run - UK From: Skipjack K8 Date: 14 Sep 01 - 04:57 PM Any 'catters running, or going for the craic. I can be found in the recovery position, nursing a pint, in the Sundancer pub, down on the beach, if anyone wants to compare blisters. Mrs Skipjack and the pilchards are coming, too. It's a half marathon, and I'll be happy to clip anything of my PB of 2.10. Skipjack |

Subject: RE: BS: Great North Run - UK From: John J at home Date: 15 Sep 01 - 04:06 AM Thanks Noreen! Skipjack: I'll be on the Bents public park 'unofficial' camp/caravan site. I'll be there by mid-afternoon Saturday. My car is a pale green Vectra Estate: R253ANM. Fance a meet up today / tonight? I think the Sundancer is opposite the camp site. M: 07973331753....gizza shout! I'll be in the Sundancer (with Mudcat T shirt) after the race as long as it's not persisting, otherwise it's the refuge of the caravan until South Shields eateries open in the evening (a curry or a pizza, not sure which yet). OK on your PB, my GNR PB is 2:05; we'll be finishing around the same time. BTW, do you know if any one is in need of a race number? My No2 son was supposed to do it, but he's had to drop out cos of a V bad cold. Hope to see you there. John |

Subject: RE: BS: Great North Run - UK From: Noreen Date: 15 Sep 01 - 01:44 PM Wow, Ian! That'll spur them all on! If anything can make them tap their feet after running all that way, you can. :0) |
Subject: RE: BS: Great North Run - UK From: SarahC Date: 15 Sep 01 - 05:04 PM Good luck runners! Take a spare water bottle though - that race has a habit of running out of cups for the slower runners (ie me) but will have bowsers (or locals with hosepipes) handy. Good running. Maybe I'll join you next year. Cheers Sarah |
