Did I miss something on Mudcat?

Taplas (Wales & the Marches folk mag.) came in the post yesterday and, apart from some info on a quite astonishing line-up of artists coming to Wales this autumn, I see a throw-away line in a side bar that Rick Fielding is looking to tour the UK in 2002!

What's the poop on that, then?

sian

If you poop on it sian, I doubt Rick will want to come.....I mean he's pretty fastidious and all........

You don't suppose he thought he could sneak over and sneak back without us noticing, do you?

I've actually never seen him perform! (One of these days...) I still think he needs a roadie, though!

Rick Fielding is not to be missed (says he sheepishly who missed his last performance). I've seen Rick about four times and every performance has been different. He is so diverse. He is also very entertaining, always having some neat anecdotes between songs or ad libbing with band members. If he gets to your side of the pond be sure to see him.

So ... you didn't want anyone to know? Usually, a mention in Taplas *does* fall into that category ...

(Please don't tell Keith I said that ... only joking ...?)

can these two be related?

Yumpin Yimminy! Indeed I DO plan to live long enough to get to the UK in 2002!

...and not for a minute would I do anything without alerting Mudcat friends. This is still in the germanation stage (who knows I might even get to the German Nation!) and Duckboots is madly trying to score some gigs (along with..so far.. the generous help of Burl, Harvey and Bill Sables) so if anyone has any contacts and you wanna pitch in..thanks. Just drop me an e-mail at rfield@interlog.com

Once again I'm doing this the same way I've been operating for several years now here in Canada and the States....no agents, bookers etc. Just word of mouth and the help of friends. MUCH more fun that way!

By the way, Harvey's heading to Canada to once again blow the audiences away and with any luck we're gonna get Burl (can I tell them you're R. H. Burl?) into Toronto for some concerts.

Cheers

Rick

Just a quick refresher on this. I've been asked if the tour is 'Wales only' The answer is no, it's to cover the UK from Scotland to Cornwall and all parts in-between. Potential bookers please pm me. Burl
