Last spring I was fortunate enough to see a slide/music presentation by a photographer named Bill Steber, who works for the Nashville Tennessean. For years Bill has been making trips into the Mississippi Delta, photographing the life that spawned the blues.

WARNING: when you go in you have to click twice to blow the photos up large enough to see them.

Check out some powerful stuff

cheers,

david

Man, you can almost feel the Delta. Some of the best music photographs I've ever seen.

They are a bit contrasty, though. He might have tried printing them with a half a grade less contrast.

Pogo in Michigan sent me some stories and photos he'd taken of some of the guys he'd run into during the '60s. You might like to check 'em out and there's a link to some more of his photos on his own site as well.
Tales from Pogo, Sonny, Brownie and Bukka..
