Could anyone who knows where he is drop me a PM. I am interested in printing "Walls of Troy". I believe he lives in Hexham, Northumberland, and recorded the song with the House Band in the 1980's.

Apparently, Liz Law is playing with Terry Conway. The House Band pages did not list him as a member, but they recorded Walls of Troy which yes, he did write.

Terry lives in Allendale, near Hexham Northumberland. I have been wondering just what Terry has been up to in recent times. A worldclass folk singer and an excellent writer, he was ever one for "hiding his light under a bushel". It cheers me to hear that he is active and in demand. Just by the way---I used to get the feeling that one or more of the Mudcat hierarchy was/were connected to Allendale. Perhaps I am mistaken. I'll be in Hexham in December [if civilian flights are still extant!] and would hope to be a Friday-night visitor to Allendale folk club. I look forward to meeting Terry on the night; he's an old friend.Sorry I can't give an address, though---he lived with his old Mother in Hexham when he and I made merry in Hexham folk club. One of the oddities in some ways---a left-handed guitarist for a start!

Hi All, I just thought I'd search Mudcat and see if anyone else is aware of Terry Conway. He does live in Allendale, often goes to the Allendale northumbrian nights (every few Fridays in the King's Head). He has to be one of the best kept secrets of traditional music in the North East. Lately, though, he has received a bit more publicity - as mentioned, his first CD with Liz 'The Premier' was recently released and is superb. Also, 'Katherins Tickell and Friends' produced a CD, but I can't remember its name. On that CD Terry sings a couple of songs - Fairwell Regality (written by himself) and Robin Spraggon's Auld Grey Mare, both of which are excellent and worth buying the CD for. Hope you all enjoy listening.
