Subject: RE: Help: Blue Grass From: CRANKY YANKEE Date: 30 Nov 01 - 12:26 AM For Rick Fielding. You would. Did I tell you about the two Bluegrass Festivals I did last Summer? I introduced Maritime Folk music to Hardcore Bluegrass audiences, with the complete approval of the producer, Bill Flagg. They loved the stuff. I jammed all night (of the second day) with a bluegrass group called "Shady Creek" who were in the audience the next day requesting some of the songs we'd fooled oround with the night before. Of course, they were Yankee (New Englanders)Bluegrass fans and not entirely unfamiliar with sailing, and it was a genuine "Tall Ships" sailor who was doing the singing, so they took to the stuff better than we had hoped. Bill said, "Next Summer we'll be producing Bluegrass-Blue Water festivals". Mary in KY. I've been to Kentucky, loved the people, but the grass IS green. The Ocean, however, IS BLUE, OFF SHORE,(when the sun is shining.) regards Jody |

Subject: RE: Help: Blue Grass From: Geoff the Duck Date: 30 Nov 01 - 12:07 PM Louie, the usual cause of a misplaced membership is that you need to reset a cookie. Sometimes your computer loses your cookie - a small file which identifies you to the Mudcat Computers. If you are using a different computer from the one you usually use it will not have the cookie. Click on the MEMBERSHIP button at the top of the page, then try RESET COOKIE. Enter your Mudcat Name and Password and you should be okay! |
Subject: RE: Help: Blue Grass From: Lin in Kansas Date: 30 Nov 01 - 02:11 PM Hi Louie Roy-- Here's an URL to a Bill Monroe lyrics songbook, which you can print from the Website, or download to your own computer as an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file. This looks to have lyrics of nearly all the songs Bill Monroe did--it's 200-some pages long. And you know what they say--if Bill didn't do it, it ain't bluegrass! Lin (ducking and running) |
Subject: RE: Help: Blue Grass From: JohnInKansas Date: 30 Nov 01 - 02:14 PM Reportedly - words to all of Bill Monroe's songs. About as bluegrass as you can get. Bill Monroe Song Book It's downloadable, about 20 KB, or you can print from the site - about 220 pages, so make sure your printer's full. John |
