Hi Peeps, anyone got the lyrics to a song I THINK is called the groovers song, and the chorus goes :-
Here's to the men of the Tees and the Swale
To the Niddvale and Wharfe and Arkengarthdale
And here's to Charles Bamforth the fellow won't fail
To provide work for groovers.
Thats all I can remember, of it, though I must have heard it a million times from "Mad" Arthur Jackson, in the Leather Bottle days of Sunday lunchtime folk at the Old Tradition pub in Harrogate North Yorkshire...........................Ah THOSE were t' days lads! a pint of Timmy Tailors for less than............oh sorry, must be getting old or something.!!!!

Cheers for the answer cos I know someone will know the song I mean, cos you lot are brill.

Aint Catters brilliant!!!

Spike

Good Grief, The godfather of flatpicking!!! Hi Rog, strange aint it, we bounce messages all over the world, to talk to someone in the same town that we know!!!!! If you know whence the mad one went , then ok, but I heard rumours that he had some probs, and sort of went away. I dont know if he's coherent enough to remember from what I've been told as well!!! Ah well nothing changes! Hann't been out much last few months, one dissaster after another, but I'll no doubt see you soon and I'll explain. By thr way, are you luthering at all, or do you know a good one? My trusty 20 yr old sigma needs a fret job. If you want to e-mail me direct then try: spike@hgate1.freeserve.co.uk Cheers Roger

Spike
