Subject: 'Honoured' at last, in their own land From: beachcomber Date: 07 Dec 01 - 04:16 PM Some "Catters" may be interested and pleased to note that those great veterans of the music stage Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem have recently been the recipients of Honorary Doctorates of Letters from the University of Limerick, Ireland. Never, I reckon, were there two more worthy of such recognition. What do you guys think? Beach |

Subject: RE: 'Honoured' at last, in their own land From: GUEST,Frank Date: 08 Dec 01 - 04:36 PM Tommy is the Bard of Armagh in my book. He is a repository of countless songs and tunes as well as his mother Sarah. They are both treasures. Liam is a beautiful singer as well and why not honor him? He's also a good actor. ( I don't mean a bad actor who's trying to be a singer either.) He's good at both. He plays tasteful guitar as well. Frank
