Subject: LYR REQ: Home with the Girls in the Morning From: Barbara Taylor Date: 01 Mar 98 - 09:25 PM I'm looking for the rest of the lyrics to "Home With the Girls in the Morning." I learned it as a fiddle tune out of _The Anthology of Fiddle Tunes_ by David Reiner (a Mel Bay book). I was playing my guitar arrangement in a music store and an old guy came in, asked what tune I was playing and when i told him he said, "Oh, yeah, there's words to that." But he only knew one verse (chorus?): Ain't gonna eat no supper here tonight Ain't goin' home till mornin' Dance all night till the broad daylight Go home with the girls in the morning. If anyone has (or knows where to find) the rest of the words I would very much appreciate the information. Thanks. Barb |
Subject: RE: LYR REQ: Home with the Girls in the Morning From: Joe Offer Date: 01 Mar 98 - 10:02 PM Barb, try this one. It's called "De Boatman Dance" in the floppy-disk version of the database, and "innseannach th'a" in the online version. I think the title is wrong on the online version, but I can't say that for sure. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: LYR REQ: Home with the Girls in the Morning From: Gene Date: 02 Mar 98 - 04:31 PM As I thought and according to a friend, it is "Go home with the girls in the morning" by BOB WILLS with Tommy Duncan on vocal.
He also has a recording of it by Clyde Brewer & The River Road Boys. |
