It's not a folk song, but I'm using it for a Song Challenge! I already posted a preliminary parody, but since I couldn't remember exactly how the bridge goes or how it ends, my curiosity is aroused (and I'd sorta like to "fix" the parody).
I already DID try a google search, etc., but all I can find is references to the song (as one of the worst of the 70's, e.g.) or places to buy CD's.
Kin y'all hep me?

I don't know the lyrics because I was always waiting for my favorite guitar solo of all time - Amos Garrett. Be sure to listen.

Boy, oh boy, thanks for saying it, dwditty! Amos Garret is a stunning electric guitarist. The only person who can even come close is Knopfler....I think it's because they "caress" the strings with bare fingers! (and the notes they choose....oh, the notes they choose....)

Oooooh....that song re-awakens the nightmare that was a car trip in my best friend's mother's Chevy Impala....she was a horrible AM radio addict, and OOOOOOOOOH how we suffered! Captain & Tennille, anyone?

Remember hearing Muldaur and company do this tune before Garrett had worked out that great solo--and the solo makes the song--I worked on, but never could quite get, that really cool bend that he uses--Anyone remember the chords?
