I will be visiting Denver in March and wondered if there were any folk sessions either in Denver or the Aurora area.

Look up Harry Tuft's shop, The Denver Folklore Center, 1893 S Pearl St. (303) 777-4786. They had a music jam there at the store the last time I was in Denver for a meeting, and can also tell you who's playing where. It's a great shop to poke around in for folk books, recordings and instruments, too!

Also look up Swallowhill. Some good stuff usually going on there; don't know about actual sessions.

There used to be weekly open acoustic jams once a week or an open mike at Swallow Hill. I moved away about 4 years ago but there were also Bluegrass and Celtic jams... I tried to find their webpage but it did not show up.

Swallow Hill Home Page I really wish I knew why this was so difficult for some people. No slam meant, Guest fingerstyle, really.

Look up the Swallow Hill page, (thanky Sorch!) click on concerts, and then click on the Winter Concert Schedule below the changing photo of performers. The jam folks are referring to is called the Hootenany and happens usually early every month. While it is hosted by Harry Tuft, it's been a long time since it's been at his shop, it is located at the Swallow Hill concert hall on Yale (see above). Another place to check is (www.gospelgrass.com) set up by my friends, Bing and Suzie Solomon for their radio program of the same name found on 670 on your AM dial. In addition to the program list for each week, they list events happening in the area. Well that's a start.

Forgot to say that the hoot mentioned above has folks come up on stage and play a few pieces and then it goes on to the next. But the best part of it is when most folks head out the door and then those that stay put the chairs all in a circle and have a fine jam.
