Subject: RE: Tune Req: mulligan tyre From: Murray MacLeod Date: 18 Jan 02 - 01:50 PM JP, I think its the parody lyrics we need. Kevin, there isn't a Mulligan Tyre (like a Goodyear or Uniroyal), the song is just a rather clever (and funny)parody of the chorus of "Mull of Kintyre". I know a singer in Sussex who knows the words, but that isn't much good at this point in time. Someone on the 'Cat must know it. Murray

Subject: RE: Tune Req: mulligan tyre From: Mac Tattie Date: 18 Jan 02 - 02:00 PM Scotish singer Jim Reid recorded a song of this name. I recall it as being amusing at the time, when every heather clad, tartainish, piano accordion wealding dance band thought they were "with it" by including a pop song in their program. 'Fraid I can't rember the name of the LP, as it would have been then. cheers. |
