Subject: Req: Leaving Nancy by Eric Bogle From: steve t Date: 18 Mar 98 - 04:03 AM Anyone have the lyrics to Leaving Nancy by Eric Bogle. All I remember is the chorus: So come a little closer Put your head upon my shoulder And let me hold you one more time before the whistle blows. |

Subject: Lyr Add: LEAVING NANCY^^(partial) From: Harald Date: 19 Mar 98 - 05:07 PM In comes the train, and the whole platform shakes It stops with a shudder and the screaming of brakes. The parting has come and my weary soul aches I´m leaving my Nancy, oh. So come a little closer, put your head upon my shoulder and let me hold you one more time, before the whistle blows The suit-case was lifted and stowed on the train A thousand regrets came up in my mind We had so little time and now the time´s gone Good-bye my Nancy, oh |
Subject: RE: Req: Leaving Nancy by Eric Bogle From: Harald Date: 19 Mar 98 - 05:23 PM Umm, I heard my Dubliners CD with that song on it lots of time so I thought to have the lyrics in my mind. But now that I posted it I can´t get the tune out of my head and one line comes to my mind which goes "I see the first tears tickle and fall" which obviously does not appear in my posting. In addition I think that song has three verses. So possibly one verse is missing. If so, please pardon me and also my bad memory. Thanks. |
